Storyboard

Image
This is our sketch of how a user would interact with our app during a workout session, it shows the user opening the app up and performing a workout and the interactions that would take place between the app and user before during and after the workout.

This is the nutrition page and it has many different areas some of which e.g. food will ideally take you to a sub page when you click them and give you more information. The food diary section is basically a daily summary of the users intake.  This is the sub page for nutrition and it gives the user an expanded look, this page is the page where users will input the foods that they have eaten and after that it will calculate through an algorithm and update your food diary. This is just a general timetable page which shows a mixture of lessons, meal times and exercise routines. It can be automatically updated through your university account or manually put in your schedule as far as you can. This is the exercise sub page and it shows a list of many exercises to look at and clicking on any of them gives you an expanded look which gives you a full description of the exercise. If the user likes what they see they have the option to add the exercise to their own routine...

User evaluation

User evaluation User one For this person I decided to use the think aloud method, I thought this would suit best because it’s getting constant feedback while the user is evaluating the app. Before I start I want it to be clear that I let the user have the freedom to explore the app and then comment on any issues that they thought needed improved or changed. This person while exploring the app found one of the main problems was actually the inconsistency of the text we have on our app, an example could be that certain words were capitalised where other words should have been instead. Two other points this user made were the fact that for height you should be able to see the option to switch between cm and feet and for weight you should have the option to switch between kg and stone. To summarise multiple pages that have a step process explaining what to do could be changed according to the user’s feedback which was images could be put for each step in the process to give a visua...

Requirements

Requirements Main focus For the personal health tracker establishing requirements for the app is important because we need to be able to narrow down what area of health we want to focus on. For our app though we would ideally want to focus on all areas with a huge focus being on the app having features that would be considered all-in-one. The areas of focus we’re looking at is a timetabling system which plans exercise routines and meals around your lectures and workshops, a nutrition system where you can follow custom meal plans or see some of the most popular meals as well as other features and finally an exercising system which is like the nutrition system in a lot of ways like designing custom routines that can also fit around your timetable for the day. The span of this app would start small mainly looking at local universities targeting students and/or gym enthusiasts, the hopefully if the app starting gaining traction taking the app more public so more students could have ac...
